10 Best things to do in Pipa, Brazil this holiday

Pipa, Brazil

Although Brazil is home to countless beautiful beaches, the country does have one drawback: they are sometimes overcrowded. However, we were keen to get away from the crowd, despite the fact that this creates that lovely Brazilian vibe of people having a good time. To do that, you can try some of the best things to do in Pipa, Brazil.

Pipa is a region in Northeast Brazil that is great for anyone looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet. In contrast to Copacabana Beach and the beaches of Ilha Grande, the modest hippy beach village offers a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Areas of Pipa’s beaches are popular and lined with restaurants and bars serving food and beverages. It is because of this that Pipa is the appropriate compromise for virtually any traveler.

Information on Pipa, Brazil

Pipa, Brazil is approximately 84 kilometers from Natal, South Africa’s largest city, and is a popular tourist destination. Due to strict environmental regulations, there are no high-rise constructions in Pipa, and as a result, development has been restricted. Pipa stands apart from the rest of Brazil’s beach settlements due to its distinctive appearance.

Pipa is well-known for its beautiful beaches, which serve as the town’s primary draw for visitors. Due to the large number of beaches available in the Pipa area, you can pick and choose what characteristics make a certain beach “perfect” for you.

Pipa is also a well-known surf destination in Brazil, thanks to the presence of several good surfing beaches in the vicinity. As a result, Pipa has earned the reputation of being a hippie haven among young tourists. Brazil’s northeastern region, on the other hand, is home to the popular holiday destination of Pipa.

See dolpins at Baía dos Golfinhos

Baa dos Golfinhos translates to “Dolphins Bay,” which makes sense given the high frequency with which dolphins are spotted in the area. The best time to watch dolphins is around lunchtime, although you may be able to see them at any time of day depending on your luck.

It is possible to hire a kayak for approximately R$60 per hour at Baa dos Golfinhos and paddle out to get a closer look at dolphins. There are also boat trips to the area, but we do not recommend taking them because they disturb the dolphins and are one of the reasons their pod numbers have dropped in the past several years.

It is not necessary to rent a kayak or go on a boat excursion in order to observe dolphins because they come very close to the shore. By swimming out to sea, you will be able to see them clearly! Visit Baa dos Golfinhos for nothing more than swimming and relaxing because it is a great beach (not just for the dolphins).

Spend the day in the spa pampering yourself.

The services offered by Pipa are extensive and include everything from manicures to haircuts to an entire day of pampering. Sombre e Agua Fresca and Toca da Coruja, for example, both feature specialized spas where you may indulge in Ayurvedic treatments, reiki, reflexology, and various forms of massage to get you in the mood for your vacation properly.

Take a surf lesson

Because Pipa is a surf town, surfing is one of the most popular things to do in the area. In the Pipa area, various surf spots are suitable for both beginners and experienced surfers alike.

There are also surf schools and camps, such as the Surf Camp Pipa Hostel, that you can attend. This hostel is popular with budget travelers who enjoy surfing, and it offers board rentals as well as surf instruction. It is located near the beach.

If you don’t want to bring your own board, you may rent one pretty much anywhere in town, including the Pipa beaches. There is no doubt that this is one of the best things to do in Pipa, Brazil. All that remains is for you to choose a beach that is suited for your level of competence and go from there. These are the best surfing beaches in Pipa:

Cacimbinhas is a beautiful beach that is accessible all year with waves suitable for all skill levels. It is located just north of Pipa, Brazil. On this sand bottom wave, there are both right and left turns to be had. Because it is less crowded than Praia do Amor, this is a fantastic alternative to the popular beach.

Praia do Amor

Praia do Amor is the most easily accessible surfing spot in Pipa (also known as Love Beach). Right on the beach, surfboards are available for hire, and the waves are perfect for surfers of all abilities. Because the waves smash over the sand with small rocks, it is a safe place for novices to learn.

This last surf spot near Pipa is perfect for surfers of all skill levels and abilities. In addition, dolphins frequent this area, so there’s a strong chance you’ll be surfing right alongside them! It is possible to pre-book a surf lesson with hotel pickup in Pipa at Madeiro beach.

Lajão is a great spot for intermediate and advanced surfers. This is Pipa’s longest wave, with a maximum height of 500 meters. It is only suitable for experienced surfers due to the fact that it has a reef bottom and receives huge swells. Given the abundance of surf beaches in the vicinity, Pipa is an excellent destination for those learning to surf.

Attend a yoga session.

With numerous yoga studios and hostels that conduct yoga classes, Pipa is considered a hippie town. My journey to Pipa began with a complimentary yoga session at our hotel, Lagarto Na Banana Hostel, which I attended every day of my stay.

Yoga courses are given at a number of different hotels and resorts in Pipa. Among the other locations are:

Surf Pipa

Yoga and surfing are combined in an innovative way at this surf school. Surfers who enjoy yoga or yogis who want to learn how to surf will benefit the most from this experience.

Orishas Resto Bar

Every Wednesday, a certified yoga instructor teaches a free yoga session in this pub, which is open to everybody. There’s nothing better than taking a lesson on the beach.

Sossego Surf Camp

In addition to being a surf camp, Sossego also has a major yoga component to its program. It is possible to purchase packages that include 2 hours of yoga per day, a 1-hour surf lesson, and all of the necessary accommodations and meals. Located in Tibau do Sul, a town about an hour’s drive north of Pipa, the resort is a great place to relax.

In Pipa, there are a plethora of yoga studios from which to pick. Alternatively, if none of these locations appeal to you, simply ask around while you’re there!

Take a tour of the sand dunes near Natal.

Massive sand dunes and expansive beaches abound in the Pipa region, and dune buggy tours are the finest way to explore them. These trips let you take in the region’s natural beauty while also having a good time zipping around.

Dune buggy tours depart from Pipa and travel either south to Sag or north to Natal, depending on the season. I went on a dune buggy excursion and visited the sand dunes in the surrounding area in Natal. It was an incredible excursion, and we had a terrific time seeing beautiful beaches, sipping cocktails, and getting an adrenaline rush while zooming across the sand dunes.

It is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining activities to participate in Natal. You can also do this exact tour from Pipa; however, keep in mind that the drive to and from the dunes will be substantially longer than it is from the town.

Enjoy lunch and drinks at Praia do Centro

Keep in mind the tranquil beaches in Pipa that were mentioned earlier? This isn’t one of them, but that’s part of what makes it such a fun place to come in the first place!

A long row of tables and chairs lines the entire length of the busiest beach in town, Praia do Central Pipa. Despite the fact that this may be off-putting to some, this is the place to go if you want to have a drink while receiving excellent table service.

Everything will be handed to you as soon as you sit back and enjoy yourself. Among the delectables and services offered by street vendors will be massages, freshly shucked oysters, prawns, and souvenirs, among other things.

Simply respond “no obrigado,” which is Portuguese for “thank you,” if you don’t wish to purchase anything from the vendor.

Watch the sunset at Chapadao Hill

The Chapadao Hill in Pipa is a great site to see the sunset or sunrise because of its elevated position. I loved watching the sunset from this beautiful vantage point, which overlooks Praia do Armor. It was my favorite site in Pipa to do so.

The walk from Praia do Armor to the cliffs takes approximately 20 minutes and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. From the shore, you must ascend several carved-in-the-rock steps that lead to the top. These can be tough to find in the early morning hours when no one is around, but during the day or at sunset, a big number of people will be walking up the hill to look for them.

From this viewpoint, you can take a break and enjoy the beauty of the lake below. At low tide, you can also take a stroll down to the water, where you’ll find a few little pools to swim in during your visit.

Just keep in mind that it could be really windy, so try to go on a day when there isn’t much wind. Additionally, due to the fact that you are near the edge of a cliff, you should proceed with caution.

Visit Cajueiro de Pirangi (Cashew Tree)

This next thing to do in Pipa is incredibly cool and took me completely by surprise. Cajueiro de Pirangi is the name of the cashew tree that is the world’s largest! The tree’s canopy covers about 8,000 square meters of space! However, the most exciting portion is still to come. Visiting the tree and walking about it is possible via a small trail that runs beneath the canopy. You can also climb to a lookout point to get a bird’s-eye view of the tree from above.

Cajueiro do Pirangi is located approximately 45 minutes north of Pipa in the Pringi do Norte region. A trip to the tree is an option, as is catching the local bus into town and wandering around for a while. There is no fee to enter the tree; it only costs R$2.

I believe that this is without a doubt the most unusual thing to do in Pipa, Brazil, and it is one that I definitely recommend!

Eat fresh seafood

It is possible to find an abundance of fresh fish because it is located on the coast and away from any major cities. A variety of seafood is available, ranging from tuna to prawns to lobster, and all of it is fresh!

Despite the fact that seafood is available at practically every restaurant in Pipa, it is advisable to conduct some research ahead of time to ensure that you end up at a wonderful location.

Visit the Santuario Ecologico de Pipa

A must-do activity in Pipa is a visit to the Santuario Ecologico de Pipa. One of the few areas that safeguard Pipa’s magnificent coastline from development is this modest reserve. It is now a bird and other animal refuges, including monkeys and turtles.

Although the park is small, numerous paths go through it, and you could easily spend a half-day exploring it. The park’s entrance fee is only R$15, making it a low-cost pastime that benefits one of the area’s sole conservation projects.
